Secret Circle’s First Winner Comes At Indiana Grand

The first winner sired by two-time Breeders’ Cup winner Secret Circle broke his maiden on Aug. 14 when Woopigsooie won a five-furlong maiden special weight at Indiana Grand by 1 3/4 lengths.

Ridden by Marcelino Pedroza, the bay colt stopped the clock in :59.08 seconds over fast turf. He races for owner Woo Pig Stables and trainer John Ortiz.

Woopigsooie was bred in Florida by Carolin Von Rosenberg, out of the unraced Tale of the Cat mare Not Affiliated.

Secret Circle stands at Hill ‘n’ Dale Farms in Lexington, Ky., for an advertised fee of $5,000.

The 10-year-old son of Eddington won eight of 16 starts during his on-track career for earnings of $3,670,790. Highlights from his time on the racetrack include victories in the Breeders’ Cup Sprint and Juvenile Sprint, as well as Group 1 Dubai Golden Shaheen, G2 Rebel Stakes, and G3 Southwest Stakes.

Secret Circle is out of the multiple stakes-winning Dixieland Band mare Ragtime Hope. His extended family includes Grade 1 winner Clever Trevor and Grade 3 winners Really Polish, Cheshire Kitten, and Alabama Rain.
