Rainbow 6 Jackpot Approaching $3 Million At Gulfstream Park

For the 30th consecutive program Saturday at Gulfstream Park, the 20-cent Rainbow 6 went unsolved to push the jackpot carryover to $2,946,550.06 for Sunday’s 13-race program.

First race post time is noon.

Three horses were live to take down the jackpot heading into the 13th race finale, the $75,000 Captiva Island, won by Blue Bahia ($6). A total of $655,675 was wagered into the popular-multi-race wager, adding to a carryover of $2,789,246 from Friday’s program.

Multiple tickets with all six winners each returned $61,173.78.

The Rainbow 6 was last hit Jan. 28, when the mandatory payout of a North American record $19.779 million pool produced multiple winning tickets worth $15,566.

The carryover jackpot is only paid out when there is a single unique ticket sold with all six winners. On days when there is no unique ticket, 70 percent of that day’s pool goes back to those bettors holding tickets with the most winners, while 30 percent is carried over to the jackpot pool.

Sunday’s Rainbow 6 spans Races 8-13 and includes featured second-level optional claiming allowance sprints for older fillies and mares going 7 ½ furlongs on the turf in Race 9, and 4-year-olds and up at six furlongs on the main track in Race 12.
