Laurel Park’s Rainbow 6 Carryover Builds To $94,895 For Sunday Card

The 20-cent Rainbow 6 went unsolved on a stakes-filled St. Patrick’s Day program Saturday at Laurel Park, growing the carryover jackpot to $94,895.62 for Sunday’s nine-race program.

First race post time is 1:10 p.m.

A total of $39,526 was bet into the popular multi-race wager Saturday, which began with a carryover of $82,247.89 and opened with five consecutive stakes worth $450,000 in purses, capped by the $100,000 Private Terms for 3-year-olds.

Two horses were live to take down the jackpot heading into the 11th-race finale, won by Xtracurricular ($4.80). Multiple winning tickets were sold with all six winners, each worth $5,045.62.

The carryover jackpot is only paid out when there is a single unique ticket sold with all six winners. On days when there is no unique ticket, 60 percent of that day’s pool goes back to those bettors holding tickets with the most winners while 40 percent is carried over to the jackpot pool.

Sunday’s Rainbow 6 covers Races 4-9 and includes an $42,000 entry-level allowance for fillies and mares 4 and up going six furlongs in Race 6, and a $45,000 second-level optional claiming allowance for 4-year-olds and up going six furlongs in Race 8.
