Keeneland Presents American Graded Stakes Standings: Rising ‘Approval’

World Approval remained undefeated in two starts this year when he rallied from off the pace to win the G2 Dixie Stakes at Pimlico May 20.

The 5-year-old gelding provided his owner, Live Oak Plantation, with its third graded stakes winner of the year, which moves them into a tie for fourth on the American Graded Stakes Standings owners list. In addition to World Approval, Live Oak also owns Holding Gold (G3 Shakertown) and Awesome Slew (G3 Commonwealth).

Live Oak also bred all three of its graded stakes winners, which places them in a five-way tie for third on the AGS breeders list. Other breeders with three individual graded stakes winners are Betz, Kidder, & Blackburn (Hoppertunity, G2; High Ridge Road, G2; J Boys Echo, G3); Calumet Farm (Wild Shot, G3; Hence, G3; Quiet Business, G3); Clearsky Farm (Arrogate, G1; Abel Tasman, G1; Ever So Clever, G3); and Shadwell (Almanaar, G1; Taghleeb, G3; Farhaan, G3).
