Jaramillo Rides Four Winners To Extend Gulfstream Park West Lead

Jockey Emisael Jaramillo added to his Fall Turf Festival meet-leading totals by riding four winners from seven mounts Thursday at Gulfstream Park West near Miami, Fla.

Three of Jaramillo’s victories came in succession, aboard Promete ($3.40) in the second race, Three Socks One ($8.20) in the third and Valdocco ($3.40) in the fourth. He also finished first with Dreaming of Joey ($5) in the sixth.

Jaramillo, who had two winners on Thursday’s program, tops the jockey standings with 45 victories, seven more than Edgard Zayas. Jaramillo also leads all riders with more than $1 million in purse earnings.

“I’m feeling good,” Jaramillo said. “I’m not thinking about the number of wins but going race by race, focusing to get the best from each horse. Of course, I’m happy to get good results during the day or the meet.”

The 40-day Fall Turf Festival meet runs through Sunday, Nov. 26 before racing moves to Gulfstream Park for its high-profile 2017-2018 Championship Meet starting Saturday, Dec. 2.

Jaramillo is a five-time winner of the Clasico Internacional del Caribe, which is being held for the first time in North America at Gulfstream Park on Saturday, Dec. 9.
