‘You Know A Racehorse When You See One’: Radcliffe Buying For Bolton In Australia

Bloodstock agent Kerri Radcliffe was dismissed by big-time buyer Phoenix Thoroughbreds earlier this year, but she seems to have landed on her feet. According to racingpost.com, Radcliffe was in Australia this week to buy on behalf of George Bolton. A colt by top sire Snitzel caught her eye, and, teaming up with Gai Waterhouse and Blue Sky Bloodstock, went to A$1.2 million (£652,000/$920,000). It was the second-highest price of the day at the Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale.

“George Bolton, who has supported me and has been unbelievable, asked me to buy for him in Australia,” Radcliffe said. “He already has a couple with Gai so I got together with her and we decided that we must have the colt. To be involved with Gai Waterhouse is absolutely amazing and also Julian (Blaxland of Blue Sky Bloodstock), who is a great guy, so it’s a great partnership.

“It took me a while to get my eye in here, because I’ve just come from looking at those big American dirt horses and European types, but you know a racehorse when you see one,” she added.
