World Approval Sets Sights On $6 Million Dubai Turf

Charlotte Weber’s World Approval, an Eclipse Award finalist for both Horse of the Year and older turf male in 2017, will make his next target the $6 million Dubai Turf on Mar. 31. According to drf.com, the 6-year-old gelding will prep for that contest in the G3 Tampa Stakes at Tampa Bay Downs on Feb. 10.

A Grade 1 winner in 2016, World Approval had a breakout season in 2017. Under the care of trainer Mark Casse, the grey turf miler captured the G2 Longines Dixie Stakes, the G1 Fourstardave H., the G1 Ricoh Woodbine Mile, and the G1 Breeders’ Cup Mile at Del Mar.

Overall, World Approval has a record of 11 wins from 24 starts, with earnings of $2,937,363. He had some time off at his owner/breeder’s farm following the Breeders’ Cup, but returned to Casse’s training center in Ocala this week to prepare for his 2018 campaign.
