The highlight of this weekend’s North American graded stakes action is the Grade 1 Beholder Mile on Saturday at Santa Anita Park, featuring a contest between Eclipse Award winner Unique Bella and Grade 1 winners Paradise Woods and Vale Dori. The older fillies and mares will test their mettle over a mile on the main track at Santa Anita, with Unique Bella the 3-5 morning line favorite in a field of six.
Analyze It makes his second start of the 2018 season in Sautrday’s G3 Pennine Ridge Stakes at Belmont Park. Trained by Chad Brown, the top sophomore turf colt will take on a field of eight, including Hawkish and Catholic Boy, over nine furlongs on the grass.
The G2 Penn Mile features American Turf winner Maraud for trainer Todd Pletcher, up against the Christophe Clement-trained multiple listed stakes winner Therapist.
Also on Saturday, the Investec Derby at Epsom Downs will feature a clash between Aidan O’Brien’s favored colt Saxon Warrior and Roaring Lion, with a full field lining up for the British Classic.
