Uncle Vinny Moves To Oakton Farm Stallions For 2020 Breeding Season

Uncle Vinny, a Grade 3-winning son of Uncle Mo, has been purchased by breeders Jeff and Stacy Jeans and will move to Oakton Farm Stallions in Morriston, Fla., for the 2020 breeding season, where he will stand for an advertised fee of $3,000.

The 6-year-old son of Uncle Mo previously stood at Stonewall’s Prestige Stallions in Ocala, Fla. His first foals are yearlings of 2019.

Uncle Vinny is out of the the stakes-winning Untuttable mare Arealhotlover, who is also the dam of stakes winner Legal Laura and stakes-placed Lu Lu Laura. Grade 1 winner Three Ring and Grade 2 winners Blazing Sword and Reporting Star are in his extended family.

“He is very straight, and in looking at his first crop of babies, they too are very correct, with big butts and great shoulders,” Jeff Jeans said. “Florida loves early speed and Uncle Vinny embodies those qualities by winning the Grade 3 Sanford Stakes going six furlongs and placing in the Grade 1 Hopeful Stakes going seven furlongs, both as a 2-year-old.”

Uncle Vinny’s Sanford Stakes victory came two starts after winning on debut in a five-furlong Belmont Park maiden special weight by 4 1/2 lengths.

He also finished third in the listed Long Branch Stakes at Monmouth Park and he ran fourth in the G2 Amsterdam Stakes at Saratoga Race Course as a 3-year-old. Trained by Todd Pletcher, Uncle Vinny retired with two wins in 12 career starts for earnings of $224,500.

“Stacy and I love the strong connections created in regional breeding programs,” Jeans said. “We currently own Airoforce who is doing great in Pennsylvania at Cabin Creek Farm. His first crop of babies are all standouts. Last year, we purchased I Want Revenge in hopes of giving him a fresh start in Indiana, but unfortunately he never got that second chance. This year, we chose Uncle Vinny as a stallion that has the qualities to become an exceptional regional stallion.”

Jeans said discounts would be given on Uncle Vinny’s stud fee for black type mares and multiple mare packages.
