Trip To Royal Ascot Possible For Long On Value

Long On Value's gallant runner-up effort – where he was defeated just a nose – in the Group 1 Al Quoz Sprint last weekend may have earned him a trip to Royal Ascot in June.

According to a report in the BloodHorse, trainer Bill Mott is considering either the five-furlong, G1 King's Stand Stakes or the six-furlong, G1 Diamond Jubilee for the 6-year-old horse by Value Plus. Both races are run on a straight course, as was the Al Quoz Sprint.

“One thing that has been mentioned now is Royal Ascot,” Mott told the BloodHorse. “It's toward the end of June and might work well for him. He'll arrive back in Chicago (for quarantine) from Dubai (April 30), then have April and May mostly off before preparing to race again in June, and that's when those races are.”
