Trainer Ron Ellis Returns To Backstretch After Suspension, Seeks Stalls

Trainer Ron Ellis has come off his 60-day suspension and is working to get stalls at Santa Anita, reports the Daily Racing Form.

“I’m working on getting some stalls,” Ellis told the DRF. “We’ll see how many they give me.”

Ellis’s suspension and $10,000 fine came as the result of Masochistic testing positive for the steroid stanozolol after finishing second in the 2016 Breeders’ Cup Sprint. By rule, he was forced to disband his stable of about 25 horses.
