Tiz A Slam, State Of Honor Headline Tuesday’s Prince Of Wales Stakes

While Queen's Plate winner Holy Helena will not run in Tuesday's $500,000 Prince of Wales Stakes at Fort Erie Race Track, the second leg of the Canadian Triple Crown does feature the Queen's Plate runner up, Tiz a Slam. Also prominent in the 1 3/16-mile dirt classic is the Mark Casse-trained State of Honor, who finished second behind Kentucky Derby winner Always Dreaming in the Florida Derby.

Chiefswood Stable's Tiz a Slam, a sophomore son of Tiznow trained by Roger Attfield, will be ridden by Eurico Rosa da Silva when he breaks from gate five. State of Honor, sired by To Honor and Serve, gets the services of Patrick Husbands from gate four.

The entire seven-horse field of Ontario-bred sophomores is as follows:

  1. Spirit of Caledon (Jerome Lermyte)
  2. Aurora Way (Rafael Manuel Hernandez)
  3. Woodbridge (David Moran)
  4. State of Honor (Patrick Husbands)
  5. Tiz a Slam (Eurico Rosa da Silva)
  6. Cool Catomine (Luis Contreras)
  7. Jurojin (Simon Husbands)
