Taylor Made Announces Arrival Of Kentucky Chrome, Farm Mascot

Taylor Made’s Stallion Complex has a new arrival: Kentucky Chrome. The miniature version of two-time Horse of the Year and Kentucky Derby winner California Chrome will live alongside his full-size counterpart at Taylor Made Farm in Nicholasville, Ky.

“With the outpouring of support and fan interest that California Chrome has received, we are excited to enhance the experience of our farm tours with this mini version of The Champ,” said Duncan Taylor.

Kentucky Chrome stands at a full 6 hands high and weighs about 200 pounds. He was sired by Iona Farms Circuit Breaker out of the mare Double Diamonds Zero Effect.

Affectionately known around the barn as “Tucky”, Kentucky Chrome is currently in training with John Baar at Raising the Baar Horsemanship, located near Taylor Made Farm. John is a five-star Master Instructor at Parelli Natural Horsemanship.

“We will be teaching Kentucky Chrome a variety of cool tricks,” said trainer Baar. “How to rear, lay down, sit and lots of other cool stuff! We hope to complete 60-90 days of training before he heads back to Taylor Made Farm.”

Kentucky Chrome’s daily duties will include: Entertaining guests on farm tours, serving as Taylor Made’s official mascot, keeping big Chrome in line, stealing the mares’ hearts, and eating all the carrots he’s offered. He will reside at Taylor Made Stallion Complex and should be home in time for April and May tours.

Kentucky Chrome is sure to become a fan favorite in his own right. Look for training videos on Taylor Made’s Facebook page.
