Stakes Winner Reride, Half To Finite, To Enter Stud In Argentina

Reride, a Group 2-placed two-time stakes winner, has been retired from racing and will begin his stallion career at Haras La Leonor in Argentina, the South American publication Turf Diario reports.

The 5-year-old son of Candy Ride is out of the stakes-winning Tapit mare Remit, who is also the dam of current Grade 2-winning sophomore filly Finite. From a deep branch of the Winchell Thoroughbreds breeding program, Remit is herself a sibling of Grade 2 winner and young stallion Tapiture and Grade 3 winner Rotation.

On his own accord, Reride won four of 18 starts for earnings of $461,010.

He won on debut as a juvenile by 6 1/2 lengths at Churchill Downs, then followed up with a three-quarter length allowance win at Keeneland. Reride started his 3-year-old season with wins in the Big Drama Stakes at Delta Downs and the Mine That Bird Derby at Sunland Park, before traveling to Dubai to run third in the Group 2 U.A.E. Derby.

Reride continued to race for two more seasons on both dirt and turf, picking up a third in the Carl Hanford Memorial Stakes at Delaware Park, and fourth-place efforts in the G2 Jim Dandy Stakes and G3 Commonwealth Turf Stakes.
