‘So Far, So Good’: Kentucky Oaks The Target For Sunland Oaks Winner Blamed

A 3-year-old daughter of Blame, Blamed was a dominating 6 1/4-length winner of the $200,000 Sunland Oaks. With that victory, she earned 50 points toward the Kentucky Oaks, and trainer Joel Marr told drf.com that the filly will be pointed to the race at Churchill Downs.

“She’s been doing really well,” Marr said. “She’s happy, galloping strong and eating good. So far, so good.”

Second on debut, Blamed has found the winner’s circle in all five of her subsequent starts. Her resume includes the Sunland Oaks win, as well as both the Island Fashion and El Paso Times Stakes at Sunland Park, for earnings over $240,000. The Maryland-bred is owned by Cleber Massy, and will be ridden in Louisville by her regular rider Ken Tohill.
