Rood & Riddle To Host International Podiatry Conference

Rood & Riddle Equine Hospital will host the Rood & Riddle International Podiatry Conference, an educational seminar for veterinarians and farriers on April 12-13 at the Lexington campus on Georgetown Road.

The conference is aimed at creating a collaborative experience for veterinarians and farriers to work together, increasing and sharing their knowledge of biomechanics, laminitis and new innovations within equine podiatry.   The conference will feature both lectures and demonstrations by some of the equine industry’s most notable members. Guest speakers include Dr. Maarten Oosterlinck, of Ghent University, Department of Surgery and Anesthesiology Belgium, who will be joined by Haydn Price, Dip. WCF, consultant Farrier to the British Equestrian Federation (BEF) and World Class Equestrian Programme, and world renowned expert, Dr. Ric Redden of the  International Equine Podiatry Center, Versailles, Ky.  Rood & Riddle Podiatrists Dr. Scott Morrison, founder of the Rood & Riddle Podiatry Center, and Dr. Raul Bras, International Equine Veterinarian Hall of Fame inductee, will also be giving lectures during the two- day course.  Rood & Riddle farriers Stuart Muir, NZCF, CJF and Sam Zalesky, CJF will demonstrating performance horse shoeing techniques.

“We wanted to create a conference that incorporated both veterinarians and farriers in a collaborative environment that will inspire all who attend.” said Dr. Scott Morrison of Rood & Riddle.  Dr. Raul Bras states “We hope this will be an opportunity to exchange ideas, learn new techniques, meet each other and facilitate future collaborations for everyone.”
