Romans-Trained Everfast Boosts Preakness Cast To 13

The last-minute addition of Calumet Farm’s Everfast will boost the expected field for Saturday’s Preakness Stakes to 13, according to a Tweet from the Daily Racing Form’s Jay Privman.

Trained by Dale Romans, the 3-year-old son of Take Charge Indy was most recently fifth in the G3 Pay Day Mile. His lone victory from 10 starts came in a maiden special weight event at Ellis Park last summer, and his best finish this season was a second in the G2 Holy Bull.

Joel Rosario will have the mount. Post positions for the Preakness will be drawn Wednesday evening.
