Oscar Performance’s Stud Fee Remains At $20,000 For 2020

Mill Ridge Farm has announced the 2020 stud fee for homebred turf star Oscar Performance to remain at $20,000 LFSN, or $15,000 for multiple mares.

A son of 2018’s leading North American sire Kitten’s Joy, he was bred and raced by Jerry and John Amerman. As a 2-year-old, Oscar Performance won the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf, winning Grade 1 stakes at two, three, and four, and breaking a 20-year track record for a mile on the turf at Belmont Park in 1:31.23, all with no lasix.

“He is a bona fide racehorse with an extraordinary pedigree blend, an exceptional physical, and a world record at a mile — undoubtedly the best American turf horse of his generation. We believe he’s one to be excited about,” said Headley Bell. “This year’s leading Kentucky Derby contenders were by sires that excelled on turf, and 41 percent of our graded stakes are being run on turf. A truly successful sire will be competitive whether grass or dirt and buyers are looking for that horse. Considering the timing and the talent, we believe Oscar Performance offers the best opportunity for success. As well, he has proven outstanding fertility with 90 percent of 118 mares bred.”
