Oscar Nominated Determined Winner Of G3 Kentucky Turf Cup

Oscar Nominated got up in the shadow of the wire to capture the G3 Calumet Farm Kentucky Turf Cup by a determined head over Postulation Sept. 9.

It was the first victory for the 4-year-old son of Kitten’s Joy since he took the Dueling Grounds Derby over the same course last year.

Settled in seventh by jockey Julien Leparoux through the early stages of the race, Oscar Nominated rallied five-wide in the stretch, eventually reeling in favored Postulation to notch the victory.

Muqtaser finished third, another half-length further back. Final time for the 1 1/2-mile contest was 2:31.37 over the firm turf course.

Bred in Kentucky by Mrs. Jerry Amerman, Oscar Nominated is by Kitten’s Joy out of Devine Actress (by Theatrical), making him a full brother to multiple G1 winner Oscar Performance.

Oscar Nominated is trained by Mike Maker for owners Ken and Sarah Ramsey.
