‘No Reason To Take A Chance’: Unique Bella Will Skip Santa Margarita Due To Cough

Eclipse Award-winning sprinter Unique Bella will not run in Saturday’s Grade 1 Santa Margarita after a cough caused her to miss some training, according to drf.com. The filly has not breezed since Feb. 25, though trainer Jerry Hollendorfer said she has returned to galloping.

“We’re not going to run in the Santa Margarita,” Hollendorfer said. “She had a little cough. There’s no reason to take a chance.”

Most recently, Unique Bella won the G2 Santa Maria Stakes on Feb. 10.
