ZWP Stable and Non Stop Stable’s multiple stakes-placed 3-year-old filly Lucky in Malibu had something left after setting an easy pace to turn back a cavalry charge at the top of the stretch and go on to win Sunday’s featured eighth race.

The $45,000 second-level optional claiming allowance for fillies and mares 3 and up was the fourth career win for Lucky in Malibu and third over older horses. The winning time was 1:46.13 for about 1 1/16 miles over a fast main track.

Lucky in Malibu, carrying low weight of 112 pounds including seven-pound apprentice Franklin Ceballos, was coming off a third-place finish in the one-mile Geisha Stakes Nov. 1 at Laurel.
