Lady T N T Goes All The Way In Charles Town Oaks

Scott and Evan Dilworth’s Lady T N T posted a surprise 37-1 victory in Saturday evening’s Grade 3 Charles Town Oaks, leading from the start and holding on by two lengths at the wire. The 3-year-old daughter of Justin Phillip, ridden by J.D. Acosta for trainer Joe Sharp, ran seven furlongs over Charles Town’s muddy main track in 1:25.23.

Lady T N T set fractions of :23.25 and :47.01 with a clear lead in the backstretch, and was able to hold off the late charge of favored Irish Mischief by two lengths on the wire. Taylor’s Spirit finished third and Parisian Diva was fourth.

Bred in Kentucky by Castleton Lyons, Lady T N T is out of the multiple Grade 1-placed Salt Lake mare High Heeled Hope. A $115,000 yearling purchase at Keeneland September, the filly later commanded $335,000 at the OBS March 2-year-old in training sale. She won at second asking at Saratoga and took an allowance race at Churchill in her next start, and the Charles Town Oaks is her third win and first graded stakes win. In 10 lifetime starts, Lady T N T has earned $323,312.
