Lack Of Entries Forces Delaware Park To Cancel Second Consecutive Monday Card

Delaware Park’s live racing card for Monday, May 20, has been cancelled due to insufficient entries. This marks the second consecutive Monday card scrapped due to a shortage of entries at the Wilmington, Del., racetrack and casino.

Delaware Park opened its 2019 live racing season on May 4 and has conducted five days of racing, with an average field size of 6.19 horses over 41 races

Live racing will be conducted this Saturday, May 18, with 50 horses entered in eight races.  First race post time is 1:15 p.m.

The races that filled on the Monday, May 20, card will be brought back as
extra races for the Wednesday, May 22 card.

2019 LIVE RACING DATES: The live racing season will continue through
closing day Saturday, Oct. 5. For the first three weeks of the meet,
racing will be conducted on Saturdays, Mondays and Wednesdays. Thursdays
will be added beginning on May 30 and continue through Sept. 26.
The Grade 3 Delaware Oaks, along with the Grade 3 Robert G. Dick
Memorial and the Grade 3 Kent Stakes, is scheduled for Saturday, July
6, and the Grade 2 Delaware Handicap, including four Mid-Atlantic
Thoroughbred Championship (MATCH) races, will be run on July 13.
