Kim Hye Sun Becomes First Female Jockey To Win A Korean Classic

Kim Hye Sun made history in Korea last week when she became the first female jockey to win a Group race in that country, reports korearacing.live. Not only was her victory in a top-tier event, it came in a classic race: the Korean Oaks at Busan.

Riding 56-1 outsider Jejui Haneul, Kim drove home fiercely from the rear of the field to just get up in time, winning by a head at the wire over Bright Star.

Kim has won 225 races from nearly 3000 mounts, making her the most successful Korean female jockey of all time. She has been riding races since 2009.
