Irish War Cry ‘Really Perfect’ In Single Breeze Before Fountain Of Youth

Irish War Cry had his first work since his 3 3/4-length Holy Bull victory on Saturday, breezing five furlongs in 1:01.80 and galloping out in 1:13.40 at Palm Meadows Training Center. The sophomore son of Curlin is expected to go on to next Saturday's Fountain of Youth Stakes at Gulfstream Park, trainer Graham Motion confirmed to drf.com.

“I thought the work was really perfect,” said Motion. “Waiting to work him until today is nothing unusual for this horse. I normally don't work horses back until three weeks after they run. I think he's done everything well since his last race and don't see any reason not to go on to the next one. He's here, he's doing well, and he needs the racing.”

Other 3-year-olds pointing to the Fountain of Youth include Gunnevera, Three Rules, Practical Joke, Huracan Americano, and Lookin for Eight. The list of probables adds Beasley, Sonic Mule, Takaful, and Talk Logistics to the list.
