Ireland Shuts Down Racing Through At Least April 19

Though horse racing has been conducted behind closed doors since March 13 in Ireland, the government issued a shut down order for all sports beginning Tuesday at midnight, according to Racing TV on Twitter.

All Irish sports, including horse racing, will be cancelled through at least April 19 as the world continues to battle the COVID-19 pandemic.

Ireland was the only country in Europe still conducting live racing.

Irish racing has been cancelled from midnight tonight until at least 19 April.
