Horses Euthanized, Exercise Riders Injured In Gulfstream Park Training Incident

A pair of Thoroughbred racehorses had to be euthanized after colliding during a Saturday morning training incident at Gulfstream Park, according to local10.com. Their exercise riders were also injured, and both were transported to a local hospital.

The female exercise rider’s mount was reportedly running off with her when the pair collided with a second horse and rider. She suffered a fractured jaw, while the male exercise rider was treated and released.

The collision occurred near 5:45 a.m. on Saturday.
