‘Healthy And Happy’: Champ Midnight Bisou Back On The Work Tab At Keeneland

Champion mare Midnight Bisou returned to the work tab for the first time since the Saudi Cup, breezing a half mile in :52 3/5 at Keeneland on Thursday. According to bloodhorse.com, the 5-year-old daughter of Midnight Lute pleased her connections with the easy workout.

“It could not have gone any easier,” co-owner Jeff Bloom told the Blood-Horse. “She is training as well as she ever has. She’s healthy and happy.”

Following her runner-up finish in the Saudi Cup at the end of February, Midnight Bisou was being aimed at the G1 La Troienne on the Kentucky Oaks undercard on May 1. However, the coronavirus pandemic put a hold on Kentucky’s classic races as well as stakes schedules around the country, so trainer Steve Asmussen now hopes to be able to run the mare sometime in early summer.
