Gulfstream’s Rainbow 6 Carryover Swells To Over $1.4 Million

The 20-cent Rainbow 6 went unsolved for the 24th consecutive program at Gulfstream Park on Sunday, swelling the jackpot carryover to $1,464,550.68 for Wednesday’s card.

Multiple tickets with all six winners were each worth $39,124.30.

The carryover jackpot is only paid out when there is a single unique ticket sold with all six winners. On days when there is no unique ticket, 70 percent of that day’s pool goes back to those bettors holding tickets with the most winners, while 30 percent is carried over to the jackpot pool.

The carryover jackpot pool going into Sunday’s six-race sequence (Races 6-11) was $1,287,926.22, generating a Rainbow 6 handle of $736,026.

The popular multi-race wager has last solved on Dec. 7, when a lucky ticketholder cashed for a $98,309.32 jackpot payoff.

Who’s Hot: The Ortiz brothers each made two visits to the winner’s circle. Irad Ortiz Jr. scored aboard Pounds to Pennies ($6.20) in the sixth race and Whoop Ti Do ($5.60) in the seventh. Jose Ortiz won on Uncle Tbone ($4.60) in the third and Cosita Rica ($9.20) in the 11th.
