Gulfstream West’s Rainbow 6 Carryover Builds To $691,989 For Sunday

Gulfstream Park West’s Rainbow 6 continued to build Saturday after it went unsolved for the 30th consecutive day.

The carryover for Sunday’s nine-race card is $691,989.54.

Multiple winning tickets Saturday returned $65,741.50.

The Rainbow 6 had two huge prices in Travy Boy ($45.80) in the sixth and Picara ($58.60) in the ninth.

The carryover jackpot is only paid out when there is a single unique ticket sold with all six winners. On days when there is no unique ticket, 70 percent of that day’s pool goes back to those bettors holding tickets with the most winners, while 30 percent is carried over to the jackpot pool.

There will also be a Super Hi 5 carryover is $2,677.17.

Saturday’s program was highlighted by the Sunshine Millions Preview featuring nine stakes races worth $675,000. Equine Authority Inc.’s Red Crescent won the $75,000 Classic Preview over Art G Is Back.

Other highlights on the day included:

Anne Scott’s Galleon Mast defended his title in the $75,000 Turf Preview. Trained by David Fawkes and ridden by Paco Lopez, Galleon Mast, who has finished first, second or third in 24 of 28 turf races, got up in the final strides over Freedom Matters.

William Stiritz’s Sheer Drama winner Wildwood Beauty won the Millions Distaff by 1 ¾ lengths over Heiressall. Wildwood Beauty has placed first or second in nine of her 10 races.

In the $75,000 Juvenile Turf, Don and Rebecca Ming’s Captain D won by 5 ¼ lengths. A 2-year-old son of Gary D, Captain D was second in the Proud Man and third in the Armed Forces.

Jockey Paco Lopez won four races, including three stakes. Lopez won aboard Galleon Mast ($5.80) in the first, Much About It ($4.80) in the fifth, Travy Boy ($45.80) in the sixth and As Seen On TV ($4.60) in the 10th.
