Gulfstream Park’s Rainbow 6 Carryover Builds To $1.16 Million

The 20-cent Rainbow 6 went unsolved for the 27th consecutive racing day Friday at Gulfstream Park, growing the carryover jackpot to $1,160,216.98 for Saturday’s 12-race program.

First race post time is 12:30 p.m.

No horses were live heading into Friday’s 11th race finale to take down the popular multi-race wager, which saw a total of $178,966 wagered on top of a $1,117,274 carryover from Thursday’s card. Multiple tickets with all six winners each returned $612.52.

The carryover jackpot is only paid out when there is a single unique ticket sold with all six winners. On days when there is no unique ticket, 70 percent of that day’s pool goes back to those bettors holding tickets with the most winners, while 30 percent is carried over to the jackpot pool.

Saturday’s Rainbow 6 sequence spans Races 7-12 and includes the $100,000 Musical Romance Stakes for Florida-bred fillies and mares 3 and up going seven furlongs in Race 10, which drew a field of eight led by 9-5 program favorite Stormy Embrace. Winner of the 2018 Princess Rooney (G2) last summer at Gulfstream, the Kathleen O’Connell trainee was second by a neck in the Sugar Swirl (G3) and third in the Hurricane Bertie (G3), the latter Jan. 26, in her last two starts. She drew Post 7 at topweight of 124 pounds, including jockey Wilmer Garcia.
