Gulfstream Park West’s Rainbow 6 Solved For $162,143

For the first time in 11 racing days, the 20-cent Rainbow 6 was solved by one lucky bettor when Mega Bucks fittingly captured Saturday’s 10th race finale at Gulfstream Park West for a carryover jackpot payoff of $162,143.62.

Both Mega Bucks ($10.80) and 40-1 My Little Rockstar were live to take down the jackpot heading into the last race, a $60,000 maiden special weight for 2-year-olds going one mile on the grass. The winning combination was 1-5-5-8-8-3.

Other winners in the sequence were Why God ($6.40) in Race 5, Black Prong ($15.80) in Race 6, Arrivederla ($15.60) in Race 7, Molly Corbin ($8.60) in Race 8 and The Wayne Factor ($59.80) in Race 9.

The Rainbow 6 had gone unsolved since being hit for the third time in five racing days Oct. 12 for a $23,222.88 jackpot payoff.

The carryover jackpot is only paid out when there is a single unique ticket sold with all six winners. On days when there is no unique ticket, 70 percent of that day’s pool goes back to those bettors holding tickets with the most winners, while 30 percent is carried over to the jackpot pool.

The Rainbow 6 begins anew on Sunday’s 10-race program that begins at 1:15 p.m., starting in Race 5, a $60,000 maiden special weight for 2-year-olds going five furlongs on the turf which drew a full field of 13.

There will be a carryover of $16,564.39 in the $1 Super Hi-5 for Sunday’s opener, a 1 1/16-mile turf claiming event for 3-year-olds and up that attracted a field of 12.
