Gulfstream Park: Mandatory Payout Sunday In Rainbow 6; Pool Expected To Hit $6 Million

A mandatory payout of the Rainbow 6 is scheduled for Sunday at Gulfstream Park in Hallandale Beach, Fla., where the pool is expected to grow to $6 million or more.

The popular multi-race wager went unsolved Saturday, leaving a carryover jackpot of $1,366,159.50 heading into Sunday’s mandatory payout. Multiple tickets with all six winners Saturday were each worth $198,535.42.

The Rainbow 6 carryover jackpot is usually only paid out when there is a single unique ticket sold with all six winners. On days when there is no unique ticket, 70 percent of that day’s pool usually goes back to those bettors holding tickets with the most winners, while 30 percent is carried over to the jackpot pool. However, on mandatory-payout days, the entire pool is paid out to the bettor or bettors with the most winners in the six-race sequence.

Sunday’s Rainbow 6 sequence will span Races 6-11, including optional claiming allowances in Races 6, 8, 9 and 10, as well as a mile maiden special weight race on turf that drew a full field in Race 11.
