G1 Winner, Producer Memories Of Silver Euthanized At 24

Darby Dan Farm‘s Memories of Silver, who was a Grade 1 winner and producer, was euthanized Sept. 18 due to the infirmities of old age. She was 24.

During her racing career, the daughter of Silver Hawk captured the G1 Queen Elizabeth II Challenge Cup at three, and added the G1 Beverly D. Stakes the following year. In addition to her two G1 victories, Memories of Silver also notched victories in the G2 Diana, G3 Nijana, G3 Just a Game, G3 Robert G. Dick Memorial, and G3 Ballston Spa. Memories of Silver won nine of 19 career starts for earnings of $1,448,715.

Memories of Silver also excelled as a broodmare, producing the likes of Winter Memories, who captured the G1 Garden City Stakes and G1 Diana Stakes.

Memories of Silver also produced G3 winner La Cloche and stakes winners British Blue and War Trace.
