G1 Cotillion Winner It Tiz Well Retired From Racing

Tommy Town Thoroughbreds It Tiz Well, winner of the G1 Cotillion Stakes, has been retired from racing due to an injury she sustained during training Dec. 30.

The BloodHorse reports that the 4-year-old daughter of Arch has arrived at Brookdale Farm near Versaillies, Ky. She will be bred to Tapit this year.

Mike Allen, farm manager at Tommy Town Thoroughbreds, told the BloodHorse that It Tiz Well came out of her Dec. 30 work at Santa Anita with the injury.

“After her last work she came back lame, and we found a chip in her scan, so we made a decision to stop on her instead of putting her through another year of training,” Allen said.

It Tiz Well (Arch x It Tiz, by Tiznow), won five of 10 career starts, for earnings of $1,130,840. In addition to the Cotillion, the Jerry Hollendorfer trainee won the G3 Honeybee and G3 Delaware Oaks. She also finished second in the G1 Alabama and G2 Santa Ynez.
