Frosted On The Board With First Winner As Inject Scores At Ellis Park

Darley stallion Frosted was represented by his first winner on Saturday at Ellis Park in Henderson, Ky., when Louis Wright’s 2-year-old filly Inject broke her maiden at first asking for trainer Stanley Hough.

Ridden by Julien Leparoux, Inject came from just off the pace to win the 5-furlong contest by six lengths, getting the distance in :57.67 on a fast track.

Out of Successful Appeal mare Appealing Zophie, winner of the Grade 1 Spinaway in 2006, Inject was bred in Kentucky by My Meadowview LLC and sold by Denali Stud to Hunter Rankin, agent, for $390,000 at the 2019 Keeneland September Yearling Sale.

Frosted, who stood for $40,000 in 2020, was bred by Darley and raced for Godolphin. Trained by Kiaran McLaughlin, the gray son of Tapit won 6 of 19 starts including the G1 Wood Memorial at 3 and the G1 duo of the Met Mile (by 14 1/4 lengths) and Whitney at 4.
