Frey Sustains Knee Strain In Pre-Race Incident At Del Mar

Jockey Kyle Frey is expected to miss two to three weeks of racing at Del Mar after a pre-race incident on Friday afternoon, according to bloodhorse.com. Frey is reported to have strained his left knee when his mount Beat The Chalk unseated him prior to the final race on the card.

Beat The Chalk was scratched, and Frey was transported off the track in the ambulance. The jockey will have more tests later this week.

The former champion apprentice jockey, Frey has been the regular rider for two-time graded stakes winner Blended Citizen this year. He has not yet won a race at Del Mar this season.
