Frankie Dettori May Be Coming To A Big Screen Near You

The documentary film team behind ‘Being A.P.’, which traced the final races of champion jumps jockey A.P. McCoy, has been greenlit to make a documentary about beloved rider Frankie Dettori. The Racing Post reported that filming began on the project around last year’s Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe, and will likely take place over 12 months.

The crew will film 35 days in total with Dettori, and hopes to catch him with a bid for a historic third win at the Arc with Enable this fall.

The project is tentatively titled simply, ‘Frankie,’ and is expected to be available on streaming services and possibly some theaters.

Dettori’s manager Peter Burrell, told the Post they intend to showcase both the highs and lows of the legendary rider’s career, “with no stone left unturned.”
