Mojica won four races in total on the card, all for trainer Mac Robertson. He began a three-race win streak in a maiden special weight with Happy Hour Cowboy ($2.00) followed by the $50,000 Princess Elaine Stakes with Honey’s Sox Appeal ($7.00) and the $50,000 Blairs’ Cove Stakes with Hot Shot Kid ($3.00).

The third stakes win came in the feature race of the card, the $100,000 Minnesota Derby (black-type) with Mister Banjoman ($4.80), defeating post-time favorite Dame Plata and Francisco Arrieta.

Mojica started off the week with a Monday win at Assiniboia Downs in the $75,000 Manitoba Derby, in which he rode Oil Money ($3.00) to a 4-length victory for trainer Robertino Diodoro.
