First Foal Is A Colt For Grade 1 Winner Ralis

Ralis, a Grade 1 winner standing in British Columbia, saw his first foal born earlier this month when Sweet Little Shoe had a colt for breeder Shamrock Racing Stables.

Sweet Little Shoe, an unplaced 8-year-old Strut the Stage mare, is a half-sister to English stakes-placed Jaish, and her oldest foal is an unraced 3-year-old. Her extended family includes English champion and Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe winner Sakhee, and European Group 2 winners Thawakib and Celestial Storm.

Ralis stands at Canmor Farms in Aldergrove, B.C., for an advertised of $2,000 (Canadian).

A 7-year-old son of Square Eddie, Ralis won two of 19 starts for earnings of $426,138. His biggest win came in the Grade 1 Hopeful Stakes at Saratoga, which he won by 5 3/4 lengths.

Ralis also turned in runner-up efforts in the Grade 2 Del Mar Derby and the non-graded Graduation Stakes, Snow Chief Stakes, and Rainbow Stakes.

Bred in California by Reddam Racing, Ralis is out of the placed Ten Most Wanted mare Silar Rules, and he is a full-brother to Grade 3-placed stakes winner B Squared. His second dam is Grade 3 winner Morning Meadow, and his female family also includes Grade 1 winners Hooh Why, Solar Song and Solar Splendor, and Grade 3 winner Strategic Mission.
