Finger Lakes Racetrack Quarantine Lifted

The two-week quarantine for strangles at Barn 19 at Finger Lakes Gaming & Racetrack and at an off-site training barn has been lifted, according to the Equine Disease Communication Center. The affected horse is in isolation in a pasture in Ontario County while his lesions heal.

He will remain in isolation and under veterinary care until he is no longer shedding the strangles virus, S. equi. There have been no other cases of strangles reported in horses that were in quarantine with the affected horse.
