Donner Representing OTTBs In Fourth At Land Rover Kentucky 3-Day Event

Lynn Symansky rode the OTTB Donner to a double clear cross country score Saturday at the Land Rover Kentucky 3-Day Event, moving up into a tie for fourth place ahead of Sunday’s show jumping. Donner is the highest-placed OTTB after Saturday’s competition, currently on his dressage score of 31.3.

Donner raced under the name Smart Gorky, and never hit the board in six starts. His story, along with those of the rest of the off-track Thoroughbreds competing in the Kentucky 3-Day, is available at retiredracehorseproject.org.

Michael Jung and Fischerrocana FST

Three-time winner of the Kentucky 3-Day, Michael Jung and Fischerrocana are in the lead going into Sunday on a score of 27.1, followed closely by Chris Burton and Nobilus 18 on a 27.9. Oliver Townend had a spectacular Saturday, and is currently in third and fourth on his two mounts, Cooley Master Class and King Joules.

  • Tight Lines, ranked 17th on a 38.3. (double clear cross country)
  • Truley Wiley, ranked 21st on a 42.4. (double clear cross country)
  • AP Prime, ranked 22nd on a 42.7. (1.6 time faults cross country)
  • Captain Jack, ranked 24th on a 45.3. (double clear cross country)
