Danza Dies Of Apparent Heart Attack At Age 10

Grade 1-winning sire Danza has died of an apparent heart attack at the age of 10, reports the Daily Racing Form.

The Arkansas Derby winner stood at Spendthrift Farm for his first four seasons before being leased to Fair Winds Farm in Ohio beginning in 2020. His oldest foals are 4-year-olds, and his progeny is represented by 48 winners from 95 starters.

A son of Street Boss, Danza was Grade 2-placed as a juvenile before breaking out with the Arkansas Derby win. He subsequently ran third behind California Chrome in the 2014 Kentucky Derby.
