Could Bowie Rise Again? Facility May Be Used As A Training Center

The Racing Biz reports that Bowie, formerly a staple of the winter Mid-Atlantic circuit, could once more come to life as a training center.

Maryland Jockey Club President and General Manager Sal Sinatra suggested the mostly-vacant shell could become “a world class facility” serving Laurel Park as Palm Meadows does for Gulfstream Park.

Sinatra said the facility’s potential use had been a topic of discussion at The Stronach Group.

A transition at Bowie could also solve a stall shortage issue if Pimlico moves to mixed use in the future and requires off-site stabling.
