Coolmore: Stellar Wind In Ireland, Will Be Bred To Galileo

Multiple Grade 1 winner Stellar Wind has been sent to Ireland and will be bred to top sire Galileo, Coolmore told the Blood-Horse this week.

The 6-year-old daughter of Curlin was purchased by M.V. Magnier at the 2017 Keeneland November Sale for $6 million.

Out of the Malibu Moon mare, Evening Star, Stellar Wind was bred in Virginia by Keswick Stables and Stonestreet Thoroughbred Holdings. As a yearling, she was purchased at the Fasig-Tipton Saratoga Select Yearling Sale for $40,000 and then sold to Barbara Houck for $86,000 at the Fasig-Tipton Midlantic fall sale, also as a yearling,

Stellar Wind won 10 of her 17 starts, earning more than $2.9 million. She won half a dozen Grade 1 races during her career, including the Clement L. Hirsch Stakes at Del Mar twice. Her final start was a sixth-place finish in the $16 million Pegasus World Cup Invitational.
