Commission Orders Remington’s Jackpot Pick 6 Removed From Wagering Menu

Remington Park is no longer offering its Sooner 6ix jackpot wager due to orders issued by the Oklahoma Horse Racing Commission, reports drf.com. The order was issued after a bettor ignited controversy over his payout on April 10, and the story was picked up by the Thoroughbred Idea Foundation.

Jeff Arthur filed an official complaint with the OHRC on April 17, arguing that he had the only winning Sooner 6ix ticket on April 10. However, due to a dead heat in the sequence and Arthur’s ticket including both horses involved in the dead heat, Remington considered the wager to have two winning tickets and thus did not pay out the jackpot.

Arthur received a payout of $8,920, rather than the jackpot pool of $35,145.

“Right now we’re having legal look at it,” said Kelly Cathey, the executive director of the OHRC. “It will have to go to a hearing unless something happens between the two parties.”
