Comme Chez Soi Joins Roster For Foal Patrol Season 2

Comme Chez Soi, a 7-year-old mare owned by Old Tavern Farm, will be on the roster of featured horses for the National Museum of Racing and Hall of Fame’s Foal Patrol Season 2, which will debut online in December at www.foalpatrol.com.

The first season of Foal Patrol, a one-of-a-kind collection of live cameras following the daily activities of in-foal mares, had more than 1.6 million views from December 2017 through September 2018. The Museum will be making weekly announcements of the participating horses leading up to the debut of Season 2 in late December. Comme Chez Soi is the second mare announced for Season 2, joining Hot City Girl, owned by Lady Sheila Stable and residing at Edition Farm in Hyde Park, N.Y.

Bred in Kentucky by Grousemont Farm, Comme Chez Soi is a bay daughter of Empire Maker out of the Storm and a Half mare Downthedustyroad. Foaled on April 10, 2011, she was purchased at the Keeneland September 2012 Yearling Sale for $325,000 by Skara Glen Stables and raced for Skara Glen in partnership with William S. Farish. Comme Chez Soi was trained by Michael Matz. Comme Chez Soi broke her maiden in her career debut on Sept. 27, 2013 at Laurel Park in a one-mile maiden special weight contest with Alex Cintron in the irons. Comme Chez Soi was second in an allowance race at Gulfstream Park in her second start and finished in the money twice more in her career but never won another race.

Old Tavern Farm’s Walt Borisenok purchased Comme Chez Soi as a broodmare prospect for $210,000 at the Keeneland November 2015 Breeding Stock Sale. Comme Chez Soi is in foal to Malibu Moon with an estimated foaling date of Feb. 14, 2019.

Stopchargingmaria and her 2018 weanling filly by Pioneerof the Nile, both participants in Season 1 of Foal Patrol, were sold Nov. 4 at Fasig-Tipton‘s November Sale.

Mandy Pope’s Whisper Hill Farm purchased Stopchargingmaria for $4.4 million and acquired the weanling for $1.9 million. The price for Stopchargingmaria was the second-highest of the sale behind the $7.5 million that Lady Aurelia brought from Stonestreet Farm and the filly’s price was the highest for a weanling.
