Champion Stakes Winner Cracksman Targeting Dubai Sheema Classic

A.E. Oppenheimer’s Cracksman, who became the first Group 1 winner in Europe for his sire, Frankel, when he won the Champion Stakes last fall, has begun preparing for a possible start in the G1 Dubai Sheema Classic.

The Racing Post reports that the John Gosden trainee has been cantering for the past 10 days on the gallops at Warren Hill in Newmarket. Gosden has won the Dubai Sheema Classic twice before, most recently with Jack Hobbs last year.

In addition to winning the G1 Champion Stakes, Cracksman also took the G2 Prix Niel and G2 Great Voltigeur, and was second in the G1 Irish Derby and third in the G1 Epsom Derby.
