Arraignments For Servis And Navarro Delayed Due To COVID-19

The court appearances that had been scheduled for today for indicted trainers Jorge Navarro and Jason Servis have been postponed indefinitely, according to a report from The Blood-Horse.

The postponement came after New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo put the state in lockdown mode beginning Sunday night due to COVID-19. The trainers, along with more than two dozen others, had been charged in connection with doping racehorses by the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York.

Arraignments for some of the trainers’ fellow defendants, including pharmacists, drug makers, and drug distributors, which had been scheduled for last week, were also delayed.

Navarro and Servis have seen their licenses summarily suspended by several racing jurisdictions since the charges were announced on March 9.
