Applications Now Being Accepted For Steve Greene Memorial Scholarship

LOUISVILLE, KY — Horsemen's Track and Equipment is currently accepting applications for the third annual Steve Greene Memorial Scholarship. This $2,500 academic scholarship will be awarded to a Thoroughbred farm, racetrack or training center employee, or a member of their immediate family (spouse or child), who is currently enrolled in a 4 or 5-year undergraduate program, or who will be enrolled in such a program beginning in the fall semester of 2017. Scholarship funds can be used for tuition, books or any other academically-related expenses.

Applications are being accepted until August 31. The winning applicant will be chosen by members of the Horsemen's Track and Equipment, Inc. staff as best exemplifying the professionalism and personal integrity that company founder Steve Greene was known for.

“For more than 30 years, racetrack and training center managers sought Steve's assistance on building or maintaining tracks around the globe,” said Greene's business partner and Horsemen's Track and Equipment, Inc. President Randy Bloch.

“Steve built a strong bond with whomever he met. He so admired the incredible work ethic of so many who worked in our industry, often being multi-generation horsemen. He also had a knack for trying to help folks better themselves and strive for maximizing their individual potential. Offering a college scholarship in his honor is a small way the company can continue his legacy in our industry.”

Those interested in applying for the Steve Greene Memorial Scholarship should complete and return the scholarship application to Horsemen's Track and Equipment by August 31, 2017.
